Module 7

Warm up/Physical training

Back to Band Workout 5, provided by Marching Health, serves as a great foundation to get students ready for physical activity.  This workout helps students build muscles that directly translate to the marching activity.

Marching: Curved paths

This curved path exercise helps students practice and perfect the feel of marching in a curved path combined with forwards and backwards directions.

Assessment opportunity:
Students will perform exercise on camera using the provided UDBapp file. Video can be submitted for review by directors, staff, section leaders, or peers.

UDBapp song name:
M7 Marching: Curved Paths (100 BPM)

Movement: Combination exercise

All movement basics are combined into one comprehensive exercise that tests retention and performance of longer phrases.

Assessment opportunity:
Students will record themselves performing the chassé and sit and roll exercise taught in the video. Video can be submitted for review by directors, staff, section leaders, or peers.
